Introducing Sea Stars, the latest Modern Stitch Co. Remix of the beautiful Gradient Stars quilt by Elise Lea for Robert Kaufman.

We’ve taken the original star-filled design and sent it under the sea, pairing the vibrant, wonderfully whimsical Floral Reef collection by Tula Pink with carefully chosen Kona Cotton Solids and a touch of shimmering Ruby Star Society Speckled Metallic.

The result is a quilt that feels like discovering a hidden reef beneath sparkling tropical waters — rich marine blues, playful sea life, watery greens and pops of colour come together to create a truly captivating version of the original design. 🌊⭐

And that background metallic fabric? It adds just the right glimmer, catching the light like sunlight dancing across the surface of the sea.

How the Remix Works

Sea Stars uses the original Gradient Stars quilt pattern by Elise Lea for Robert Kaufman — so there’s no new pattern to learn!

Simply follow the original pattern instructions and substitute each fabric specified in the pattern with its corresponding Sea Stars fabric.

The result is the same striking star design, transformed into an entirely new underwater-inspired colour story — with Tula Pink’s Floral Reef fabrics bringing the personality and the metallic Speckled fabric adding a little sparkle to the depths.

Please Note

This Quilt Kit includes fabric for the quilt top only. Backing fabric, binding fabric and batting are not included.

The finished Sea Stars quilt measures approximately 64" × 76".

The free Gradient Stars pattern by Elise Lea for Robert Kaufman is required to make this quilt. The Sea Stars fabric substitutions are provided with your kit.
